![Man dresses up as Rilakkuma, proposes to girlfriend at cat cafe]()
This marriage proposal got a little weird at first, but turned out sweet in the end.
In a Rilakkuma-themed event held at Bugis’ The Cat Cafe, Alvin proposed to his girlfriend of 11 years wearing a Rilakkuma costume, in a proposal said to be two months in the making.
The three-part video on STOMP shows the visibly nervous Alvin wearing the massive orange costume and putting on quite a masquerade at The Cat Cafe, prancing around for what seems to be quite a lengthy amount of time in the guise of the event’s mascot.
After putting on an impressive (and slightly awkward) performance in front of his unsuspecting girlfriend, Alvin knees down and whips out the ring, revealing his face before proposing. The girlfriend Wei Ling, bursts into tears of joy, overwhelmed by the sudden turn of events.
“Wei Ling and I have been together for more than 11 years. This is another unforgettable moment of our love story”, Alvin says.
Apparently, proposing in Rilakkuma costumes is a thing in Singapore - check out one that happened at Windowsill Pies Cafe and another one that happened in a designated smoking area in the CBD.
