Hailo, a London taxi app, is expanding into Asia and its first stop is Singapore.
According to Tech in Asia, several sources have said that it is looking for a general manager to manage its customer acquisition and market expansion locally. He/she will also be in charge of the logistics and the partnerships with taxi drivers.
Among the existing taxi apps, Hailo’s funding for international expansion is leveled with 3-year-old Easy Taxi app, which has secured USD77 milion (SGD96 million).
The startup company admits that Singapore is possibly one of the countries included in their global expansion plan.
Singapore is working towards a more liberal technology system, unlike many other governments worldwide.
Prime Minister Mr. Lee Hsien Loong said at the May Day Rally this year, “Technology is changing all our jobs and these changes are going to happen whether we like it or not. And we cannot stop this change, we cannot escape this change. The only way is to know which way the world is going, use this to our advantage and get there where we need to be, faster than our competitors and that is what the government is trying to do.”
