Come Sept. 19, PARK(ing) Day Jalan Besar will see parking lots at three different areas: Central Business District, HDB heartlands, and Jalan Besar, transformed into temporary public art spaces.
Brought to you by Sutdio and COLOURS: Collectively Ours, this year’s theme “Walkable City” aims to celebrate the exploration of Singapore by foot. With a series of PARK(ing) installations, the event believes that it will inspire pedestrian culture, and make urban living more appealing.
No matter if you’re a designer, an artist, a landscape architect, or simply someone with a wild imagination, PARK(ing) Day encourages you to contribute design proposals and be a part of this positive campaign.
The movement is organised in 35 countries, and is currently in its ninth year. It was first pioneered in Singapore by Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) at Macpherson last year.
