The Aliwal Arts Night Crawl, a festival celebrating music and the arts presented by the Kampong Glam community, is back.
Happening on Aug. 15 from 6pm till late at the Aliwal Arts Centre (28 Aliwal Street), the festival features a lineup of performances and activities spanning genres like dance, literature, music and theatre.
Opening the evening is NADI Singapura, a percussion ensemble that skillfully blends traditional and modern music together. The group will first perform at the Malay Heritage Centre (MHC), then lead guests to the main venue.
Other performing arts groups taking part in the Night Crawl: the DIAN Dancers, Ranvindran Drama Group, Singapore I-Lien Drama Society and Teater Artistik.
Another highlight is the Community Graffiti project, which allows guests to take part in painting a wing of the Arts Centre.
Shoppers - you'll have your pick of accessories from vendors at the Singapore Makers Flea Market, which features the likes of Fictive Fingers, The Lorem Ipsum Store, Operation Overhaul and Ssek Jewellery.
There'll also be workshops and mini gigs by groups like Colourful Notes, Spring Hope and Word Forward, which allow guests to pick up a new dance form or instrument.
