![NLB maintains 'pro-family stance', will not re-instate withdrawn children's books]()
It seems three, not two books have been taken off the shelves for not being 'family-friendly'.
And Tango Makes Three and The White Swan Express made the local headlines on Jul. 7 when it was made known they'd been removed by the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore, but in a press conference that attempted to address the uproar that had followed, a third title — Who's In My Family — was revealed.
At the event, NLB's Jasna Dhansuklal said that while the library appreciated all feedback, the books will not be put back and will be pulped in accordance to policy.
According to TODAY, the assistant director Public Library Services also explained the process that went behind acquiring books, naming book reviews, trade journals and a Collection Development Policy among the ways.
When asked about the NLB's "pro-family stance", TODAY reports Ms. Jasna would only describe it as being "in line with that of MOE and MSF".
