The Singapore Airlines (SIA) have issued an advisory reminding passengers travelling their SQ26 flight to keep their mobile phones on during security screening.
Failure to switch them on to prove their functionality will result in their not being permitted to travel from Frankfurt Airport to New York's John F. Kennedy.
As such, SIA advises passengers to keep their device charger in hand carry instead of in their check-in luggage.
SIA also reveals that passengers may be subject to random enhanced security checks at the airport.
According to media reports, this new directive was launched by the United States' (US) Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to curb the use of electronic gadgets as a bomb homing device.
Flights into the US from Africa, the Middle East and other parts of Europe are also affected.
