GastroSmiths Bistro & Bakery is the new baby of Dillon Ng, the owner of now shut The Humble Bakery at Katong Shopping Centre.
Located within the Marrison Hotel at 103 Beach Road, the restaurant is Ng's joint venture with former loyal customer and stockbroker Heng Tong Jin, according to The Business Times (BT).
Updates on Facebook show the team is still tying up loose ends, including testing their recipes, before opening end July.
On the menu — which is already up on the website — is European fare with Asian elements, and dishes include broken rice with a paprika-based monkfish stew (top photo), tempura hot wings, 24-hour braised pork collar paccheri and rib eye steak. Desserts and a selection of soft poached eggs are also on the menu.
