Mr. Tan Chuan-Jin wrote on his Facebook page today, expressing relief over the removal of hate blog Blood Stained Singapore.
The blog, which featured a post encouraging misconduct towards Filipinos in Singapore, was recently taken down by Google for violating its content policy.
Said Mr. Tan, "Let us be clear. This is not about freedom of speech or a debate about immigration or foreign workforce police. This is about racism and xenophobia and there is no place for racists and xenophobes in our society."
The Minister for Manpower of Singapore also reminded how "vile and vicious blogs like (Blood Stained Singapore) do not reflect who we are as a people" and urged everyone to "make a stand and call it out" when they see something like it. "I am glad the blog has been taken down," he finished.
