The results for June's first gladiatorial opening bidding exercise (to the death) for Certificates of Entitlement (COE) — which started noon Monday (June 2) and ended Wednesday (June 4) — are in.
While premiums for vehicles in the open category moved up slightly from $67,290 to $67,334, vehicles for the transportation of goods or people jumped at least 5 percent from $40,889 to $43,001 — the category to experience the highest bump in price.
The COE for cars in category A (below 1,600cc) — this includes hatchbacks like the Honda Civic and sedans like the Mitsubitshi Lancer — went down 3.8 percent from $65,689 in May's exercise to $63,190. The bigger more powerful cars in category B (above 1,600cc) also experienced a slight dip from $68, 103 to $67,304.
Open category E prices also remained relatively unchanged, going up slightly from $67, 290 to $67,334. The COE for motorcycles went up from $4,089, to $4,003.
