British current affairs magazine Prospect has named the National University of Singapore's (NUS) Professor Kishore Mahbubani as one of its top 50 world thinkers for 2014.
The Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy is the only Singaporean on the prestigious list, which includes Amartya Sen, Elon Musk, Harvard President Emeritus Lawrence Summers and Pope Francis.
Prof. Mahbubani is a former Singapore diplomat and author of several books like Can Asians Think? and more recently The Great Convergence: Asia, the West and the Logic of One World.
He also continues to be a notable academic, serving on the Boards and Councils of several institutions worldwide, including the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs and theYale President's Council on International Activities.
Said Prospect managing editor Jonathan Derbyshire, "Kishore Mahbubani's work certainly grapples with some of the biggest questions of our time, sketching as it does the contours of a new era in which the west can no longer take its primacy for granted."
