Local stage performer Juwanda Hassim's bakery and cafe The Fabulous Baker Boy, is reopening on April Fool's Day.
The Fabulous Baker Boy was sub-licensing at The Foothills, Fort Canning Park on River Valley Road when it opened, but closed for renovations in January this year when it was granted full licence.
When they open, you'll not only be treated to Juwanda's fabulous Valrhona butter cream, red velvet and salted caramel cakes, you'll also get a taste of the cafe's new dinner menu, which features the likes of wild mushroom salad, mezze platter, beef Guinness pot pie, fried chicken and waffles, and duck confit. The menu will also see some iconic, long-time-favourite recipes such as Uncle Alvin's Curry Battered Fish & Chips and The Ravi Shanker, tender braised lamb shank served with buttered basmati.

Most exciting of all, with the new The Fabulous Baker Boy comes an community arts and events space That Spare Room, which is now hosting the Opening Festival featuring visual art works by Kelly Lim, Lina Adam and and Xin Xiaochang. The Fabulous Bakery Boy has also adopted the Daughters of Tomorrow cause, which works towards helping more women be self-sufficient. Don't forget to pick up some adorable hand-made crafts like stuffed animals, money pouches and a five stone set while you're there.
