The Infocomm Develepmont Authority of Singapore (IDA) will double the number of Wireless@SG hotspots to 10,000 by next year and quadruple it to 20,000 by 2016.
Logging into the network will also be easier with the introduction of a SIM card based login feature launched earlier today, which allows users to automatically connect to any hotspot from April 1. This also applies to prepaid SIM cards.
This means new and existing users of Wireless@SG — a free public Wi-Fi service that offers internet access speeds of up to 2Mbps — no longer need to sign up for the service or enter any credentials to access the internet at any of the hotspots islandwide.
