Four years ago on December 20th, Indian national Varadharajan Mahadevan Mahadevan, now 33, viciously attacked a nursing student at her HDB void deck, according to prosecutors.
The reason? Varadharajan felt angry and turned violent when his marriage proposal was rejected by the woman and her parents, the High Court heard.
Varadharajan was a healthcare assistant in the National University Hospital (NUH) when the two met and, according to the court prosecutor’s statement in court yesterday, he became “obsessed” with her, even “aggressively harassing” her despite the clear stance of rejection.
