The Singapore Permanent Resident who killed her family's pet dog in a moment of mental instability has since been sentenced to a two-year mandatory treatment order for animal cruelty.
Suffering from Brief Psychotic Disorder, 25-year-old Wang Jun had sat on the terrier, beat its neck and covered its mouth. The dog was released only when Wang realised it was foaming at the mouth, but it was too late — poor Junior died from the attack. It was a bid to stop it from barking, as Wang claimed hearing aeroplanes in the sky that would drop bombs on her if Junior continued to bark.
