Another round of festivities, another themed decoration announced for the MRT.
Yesterday the Land Transport Authority (LTA) had announced a collaboration with SBS Transit and the Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Citizens' Consultative Committee (KA-KS CCC) to launch a Chinese New Year-themed train along the North-East Line, in the spirit of welcoming the dawning Year of the Rooster.
From Jan 15 to Feb 11, passengers who board this decorated train can admire the walls patterned with rooster motifs (because duh!), traditional Chinese couplets to express well wishes for the year ahead, and gold coins symbolising wealth and prosperity.
Of course, one cannot leave out the ever-mandatory inverted character of 福 (fortune), to symbolise the arrival of fortune.
