The Housing and Development Board (HDB) is looking at ways on how it can advance the construction work of some Build-To-Order (BTO) projects and build them ahead of their sales launches.
This is to provide some flats with shorter waiting times to cater to couples in urgent need of new homes.
But while it may not be feasible to do so “for the entire flat supply due to land constraints and risk of oversupply, we can potentially do this for some projects every year”, said the Ministry of National Development (MND) in a written reply to Parliament on Monday (9 January).
