Two years ago, the organising duo of a night cycling race was sentenced to jail for not obtaining a permit for the event. Now that they've served their seven-day jail term last October, the race is back — and with the backing of the Singapore Cycling Federation, a (tentative) date has been set for Feb 11 at the National Stadium.

HolyCrit, which has been around since 2013, is set to become the first cycling race held in a stadium not purpose-built for cycling, and the event will involve fixed-gear bicycles and road bikes.

According to race organiser Zulkifli Awab, who has a team of 30 volunteers behind him, the race will feature a rubber surface laid around the entire running track, and safety details include water barricades and standby medical officers.
