![Culprit of Woodlands spitting incident sentenced to five weeks jail]()
The man found guilty in the Woodlands spitting incident has been sentenced to five weeks' jail and $800 fine.
Juraimi Kamaludin's charges include criminal use of force, causing a public nuisance as well as for a rash act endangering life and the personal safety of others.
A charge of disorderly behaviour was taken into consideration.
The 48-year-old cleaner's initial claim that his spitting was a reaction to insults and vulgarities hurled at his mother was unfounded after the court reviewed videos of the incident.
District judge Lim Keng Yeow also found that Juraimi acted excessively when he pushed a woman out of a bus.
Juraimi, who has been in and out of prison, was left in tears after the judge urged him to mend his ways and wished him well in sentencing.
