If you're a StarHub customer and you're travelling this month, you can consider signing up for the telco's new overseas data plan, which starts from $15 for 2GB of data. There's also a 3GB data plan that you can get for $20 — both plans will last for 30 days and you won't have to fork out a registration fee.

The Mobile DataTravel plan extends to travellers going to Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and South Korea — and it's not attached to any particular overseas telco, so you can just automatically connect to the best available network.

You'll get a series of SMS notifications before the plan expires, and if you choose to purchase another 30 days, your leftover data from the first plan will be added to the second one. You can sign up for the plan locally or internationally.
