Police were alerted to a case near Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal this morning, where the body of a 54-year-old woman was found ditched in a canal.
Identified to be a Singaporean woman who worked as a cleaner at the ferry terminal, police found neck injuries and bruises on her stomach. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and her body was retrieved from the canal later on.
Police have since classified the case as murder. Investigations are ongoing.
Other cleaners at the ferry terminal and a taxi driver who regularly sees her there expressed their surprise to TODAY regarding her death. Said to be a quiet person, she is distinguished by her cleft lip.
