23-year-old Dewi Sukowati was charged on the morning of March 20 with the murder of her former employer, socialite Nancy Gan Wan Geok.
Gan's body was found floating in the pool of her own home at 43 Victoria Park Road yesterday.
Lawyer Mohamed Muzammil has been requested to act on Dewi's behalf by the Embassy of Indonesian in Singapore.
Dewi was remanded for psychiatric assessment and the case is adjourned to April 10.
