Two Bangladeshi migrant workers were taking a nap on the grounds of a Mandai construction site after lunch when a tipper truck reversed over them. One died instantly, while the other died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
The freak accident occured yesterday afternoon at a depot work site for the Thomson-East Coast MRT line, at 20 Lorong Lada Hitam. The 54-year-old driver wasn't aware that the two had been sleeping on the ground, and reversed the truck towards a work area.
A 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 47-year-old man was found seriously injured. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
