It's been a depressing time for Samsung. To be honest, they've been making great gains in the smartphone wars of recent years, producing devices that've received more critical acclaim in every iteration.
That is, until the Galaxy Note 7. Initially lauded as one of Samsung's most advanced phones ever, the hype died down quickly after reports emerged about them catching fire spontaneously. A product recall was made, but Samsung's crisis went deeper when replacement devices proved to be as unsafe as the original iterations. Not knowing how to fix it, the Korean tech giant threw in the towel and halted all production and distribution of the Note 7. RIP.
