A fire broke out at a watch store on the second floor of Orchard Road's Wisma Atria yesterday, forcing around 100 people to evacuate the shopping mall.
Good thing they got out... in time. *badum tss*
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel arrived at the scene a little after 5.20pm, and quickly put out the blaze that was confined in Masterpiece Time and Jewels.
According to tenants speaking to The Straits Times, nobody really saw flames — just heavy smoke coming out from an air vent. An employee of Masterpiece believes that the fire could have been caused by a short circuit in the electrical wiring in the ceiling.
It was only around 6.30pm that shoppers and tenants were allowed back in.
