The National Gallery Singapore won a bunch of awards at the annual Singapore Tourism Awards last night. We're not too surprised — it's well-deserved, but really, there isn't much competition when it comes to huge, touristy attractions here. Not when it comes to new ones, anyway.
In less than a year (the museum opened in November last year), the National Gallery managed to sweep up the best attraction experience award away from fellow competitors ArtScience Museum, Gardens by the Bay and Universal Studios Singapore. Although to be fair, it's a lot newer than the rest so it's still got that novel factor. And that's probably why it also took home the breakthrough contribution to tourism award.
