As part of Tiger Beer's #UNCAGESTREETFOOD movement (remember the hawker lady who doles out food coupons to the needy?), this video offers a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day life of foreign exchange banker-turned-hawker Deniece Tan. Following in her father's footsteps, the 27-year-old left her cushy job in finance to master all the knowledge he had to impart before he passed away, and now runs Truly Test Kitchen as an online delivery service.
“Hawker food is so important to us Singaporeans, it’s such a large part of who we are. There’s so much joy and satisfaction when you see that you have made so many people happy," she says.
