The 29-year-old has since received a 10-month prison sentence and an order to pay $2,000 in compensation to the victim, who sustained serious injuries, The Straits Times reported.
It was during an inter-departmental match held for employees of the Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) on Dec 4 last year that the altercation transpired. 35-year-old Mohd Asadullah was tasked to be the referee for the match at the PSA Club in Telok Blangah, but soon found out that he shouldn't have taken the assignment after all.
