The Zika outbreak in Singapore is not as contained as we thought it was apparently. Authorities just confirmed 26 more cases of locally-transmitted viral infections — bringing the total tally to 82.

According to the health ministry and the National Environment Agency, five of the cases were detected beyond the Aljunied district, where all the previous cases have been found since Saturday.

Kallang Way and Paya Lebar Way was identified as the areas from which the five new cases originated.17 infected live or work in the Sims Drive and Aljunied Crescent area, while four other cases are still being determined for links to other affected areas.

The Ministry of Health have advised pregnant women exhibiting symptoms such as fever, rash, red eyes or joint pain to be tested for Zika, regardless of exposure to the identified virus hotspots.
