A rainy Tuesday morning brought the cold (also, relief from haze) as well as troubles for commuters travelling on the North-South MRT line, which was hit by major delays due to a track fault.
The track fault was first alerted by SMRT a little after 6am this morning about the shut down of train services from Yew Tee to Bukit Gombak MRT stations.

Though the fault was cleared less than 20 minutes later, SMRT warned of slower train speeds and congestions at MRT stations between Woodlands and Jurong East. Apparently, trains had to be manually driven at 18 kmh over the affected stretch of track for the safety of passengers, according to SMRT.
