Residents in the estate near Block 480 along Segar Road in Bukit Panjang were greeted by dog howls and urgent barking late Wednesday night. A glance outside and they saw why the canines at the HDB block were so distressed — a dog was dying on the ground floor.
The New Paper reports that the dark brown dog — believed to be a Labrador cross — had fallen to its death from a flat at Block 480. A resident speaking to the paper mentioned that she heard "loud cracking noises" before hearing soft whimpering sounds coming from the foot of the block. The whimpering went on for about five minutes before they stopped, and that 's when the other dogs in the block started barking.
