From 10am to 10pm today, members of the public can pay their last respects to the late S R Nathan during the Lying In State at Parliament House.
The State Flag will be draped over his casket (with the crescent and stars lying over the head and close to the heart) and his various medals will be displayed. Vigil Guards will do their jobs by staying vigil at each corner of the casket — said to be the highest form of respect accorded to the deceased.
