
After stepping down from his position in 2011, the longest-serving President in Singapore, S R Nathan, has since enjoyed his life in obscurity as Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies and at the Singapore Management University's School of Social Sciences.
But the man appeared in headlines yesterday morning under grave circumstances — he suffered another stroke and is in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Singapore General Hospital.
The 92-year-old suffered a stroke in April last year, but had been recovering and undergoing therapy, Channel NewsAsia reported.
