In light of the recent Resorts World Sentosa retrenchment exercise, where about 400 jobs out of 12,000 were laid off, the Ministry of Manpower is looking into complaints and appeals by former employees against the integrated resort's casino. The workers reported alleged discrimination, unfair dismissals and insufficient compensation.
Some appeals have been dismissed due to various reasons, but others are being examined by MOM, especially those where employees covered under the Employment Act received a monthly salary below $4,500.
