Gone are the days when you thought you could easily spot a traffic police officer and speed off. The Traffic Police launched a brigade of undercover motorcycle officers last month, made out of covert officers dressed in black jackets (with the white TP uniform underneath) riding black 900cc 'stealth bikes' to blend in with regular traffic. So you really won't see them coming until their lights and sirens go off — and by then, it's too late.
This Special Operations Team initiative was established to help the police nab road offenders, especially reckless motorcyclists. Already, more than 700 violations (including using a mobile phone while riding) have surfaced in this first month alone.
