While hundreds were gathered on a beach in Nice, France to watch the fireworks for Bastille Day yesterday, terror struck again in the country.
A truck — loaded with guns and grenades — drove into a crowd at the popular stretch of beach, crushing people for two kilometres. 80 people were killed, said French interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve, while 18 others are in critical condition.
The driver was reportedly killed by the police and though his motivations remain unclear, the attack has been noted as having a "terroristic character", according to French president François Hollande.
