Apparently, wild boar feedings are becoming a thing. In a fenced up area at Pasir Ris Coast Industrial Park 6, near the Lorong Halus wetland, families have been seen gathering and offering food to a group of wild boars. It seems like there are about 10 boars, and people have been feeding them items like bread, apples and biscuits. All this in spite of the fact that the creatures are untamed and have a history of attacking people.
According to an advisory on the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore website, people should not approach or attempt to feed wild boars. They ought to keep a safe distance and avoid provoking the animals by taking pictures with flash. Adults with young piglets have the most potential to attack to protect their young.
