
In the early dawn hours today, tremors were felt across Singapore after a 6.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded off the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. The US Geological Survey announced that the quake was centered about 155km south of port city Padang at a depth of around 50km. No immediate damages or injuries have been reported.
The Meteorological Service Singapore said the quake was detected at 6.56am, and there was no tsunami advisory.
