This is your rare chance to watch a documentary about Operation Spectrum, a covert security crackdown in 1987 where 22 people were arrested and detained under the Internal Security Act for their involvement in an alleged Marxist conspiracy to bring down the government and establish a Marxist state.
1987: Untracing the Conspiracy is the controversial title by director Jason Soo. Featuring interviews with the ex-detainees and political exiles about the first 30 days of their ordeal, the film was first screened at the Singapore leg of the Freedom Film Festival last year, after receiving an R21 rating from the Media Development Authority.
