A Yellow Bird is homegrown director K Rajagopal's first feature film, and it's been invited in competition to the 55th edition of La Semaine de la Critique (Critics' Week), a parallel section of the 69th Festival de Cannes. This marks the film's world premiere, where it will go up against six other first and second features for the section's top Nespresso Grand Prize, the France 4 Visionary Award and the Camera d'Or.
