In the early hours of this morning, around 3.19am, a cement mixer collided into the centre divider on the highway and overturned, spilling cement all over both sides of the road. The accident occurred on the Seletar Expressway towards the Central Expressway, between the Upper Thomson Road and Mandai Road exits, resulting in a huge jam in both directions.
No other vehicles were involved, but the driver was trapped in the truck and had to be rescued by the Singapore Civil Defence Force. He was in stable condition when they took him to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. In a Facebook post, the Singapore Police Force advised motorists to avoid the stretch and seek alternatives.
The vehicle was towed away around 8.20am.
