
The Ministry of Health revealed that in 2014, over 400,000 Singaporeans over the age of 18 had diabetes. And one in three people are likely to have it in their lifetime. So a new taskforce, headed by Health Minister Gan Kim Yong and Acting Minister for Education (Schools) Ng Chee Meng, will lead the charge into the "war on diabetes". It will take on issues like better disease management, encouraging people to do early screenings, and promoting healthy eating habits.
