Ugh, the haze. Last year's episode was bad, caused by Indonesia's forest fires and made worse by the relentless El Nino effect. But the worst part? It cost Singapore a whopping $700 million in losses, declared Environment and Water Resources Minister Masagos Zulkifli (no word on how they actually came up with that estimate, though).
He claimed Singapore has officially asked Indonesia for the identities of the directors whose companies contributed to the haze, as well as the locations of the fires.
