The next time you head out to the boondocks — we mean, the Kranji countryside — watch out for two brown signs that declare the area to be a tourist attraction. With the stamp of approval from the Singapore Tourism Board and the Land Transport Authority, this new status gets the official nod on Saturday, due in part to the hard work of the non-profit Kranji Countryside Association, which has fought for the area to be recognised since 2005.
