Detained for using a fake Indonesian passport to enter Singapore, a 55-year-old Singaporean is currently on the run after he managed to escape from a detention centre in Batam.
Damar Bahadur Chettri — also known as Sam Chettri — was reportedly caught by Indonesian immigration authorities at the Batam Centre International Ferry Terminal on Dec 22 last year. He was arrested on the ferry itself, which was headed towards Singapore.
