A veteran of 20 years with Singapore Airlines, Charles Chng unfortunately died in Johannesburg, South Africa last month during a trip at a shopping mall.
Chinese newspapers Shin Min Daily News and Lianhe Wanbao reported that the 43-year-old flight steward had been at Johannesburg's Rosebank Mall on Feb 24 when he fainted, fell and hit the back of his head.
He was taken to hospital by paramedics after remaining unconscious for about half an hour. A week into his stay at the hospital, he had to be sent to intensive care after his condition worsened, and was pronounced dead soon after.
It was believed that Chng had fallen due to a stroke, as there were no signs of bleeding on the back of his head. No other signs of injury on his body was found.
