Giraffe

The first giraffe to be born in Singapore in 28 years has finally been given a name — and they've decided on Jubilee, an unapologetically obvious tribute to SG50, the year it was born.

The baby giraffe was born at the Singapore Zoo on Aug 31 last year as the first baby of mother Roni and father Growie, who were from respectively from Israel and the Netherlands, Channel NewsAsia reports.

Touted as the tallest SG50 baby at 1.9m tall, Jubilee now stands even taller at 2.7m.

Jubilee was voted as the top pick from a shortlist of five other names — Gamba, Gao Gao, Griffin, Max and... Growfie. Ugh.
