In the latest iteration in a long tradition of government-sponsored campaigns, the Emoji Face Challenge is not giving us assurance that their causes should ever be taken seriously.
Bless their hearts, the Media Literacy Council really wanted this campaign to be associated with words such as 'hip', 'relevant' and 'fun'; but the end result is something that's considered 'ugh'. The Council — whose role is to encourage responsible internet usage (HAH) — promoted this year's Safer Internet Day in a rather odd strategy.
Their solution to help create a better internet for all? Making some emojis, and inviting you to mimic them.
