A man proved that he was desperate enough for some emergency juice for his cellphone's battery that he was willing to hurt someone for it. The 27-year-old man has since been arrested for allegedly carrying out armed robbery just for a pair of power banks.
According to the police, the suspect had pointed a sharp object at the employee of a convenience store located along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4 last December. He had stolen the power banks and threatened the employee who tried to stop him.
Police managed to establish his identity with the aid of police cameras and nabbed him on Jan 5.
He could be jailed for up to 14 years and get 12 strokes of the cane for armed robbery — and all because of two crummy power banks.
