The children of 63-year-old Wong For Choon had rushed to the aid of their father at Bukit Batok Road, where he had been in a traffic accident. Unfortunately, their father was pronounced dead at the scene as his body was extricated from the burnt Mercedes-Benz with hydraulic rescue tools.
The accident occured about 5.40am yesterday underneath the Pan Island Expressway flyover, while Choon had been driving home from Pasir Panjang, The New Paper reports. The three-car accident involved a lorry, a trailer and his white Mercedes-Benz, which had caught fire.
According to Shin Min Daily News, Choon had been driving behind the lorry along Jurong Town Hall Road when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with an oncoming trailer.
