A former policeman thought he could make away with $4,700 that belonged to victims of a fraud case by shredding forms regarding the money. 41-year-old Yee Lwee Siong however failed to do so, and has been charged for the misappropriation of money and destroying documents in the course of his work, TODAY reports.
Between October 2011 and February 2012, Yeo was a senior investigation officer with the Singapore Police Force, and had been investigating a motor insurance fraud case. He has been accused of intentionally obstructing the course of justice by shredding documents including a police statement and an acknowledgement form related to the sum of money.
